Get your DOUGH on at DoughCo!

Get your DOUGH on at DoughCo!

There is a new dessert player in Davis County and man is it a good one.  DoughCo has opened its third location at Station Park in Farmington and man did we love it!

Making cookies with Grandma has always been met with claims that you’ll get sick if you eat that raw cookie dough.  I never believed her.  Maybe it is an old wives tale?  Well, fret no more, because you can now get your cookie dough fix at DoughCo without the stern lecture.

Found on the west side of Station Park, right next to Blaze Pizza, this small shop offers the best desserts in Davis County.  You think im kidding?  Check this out.

In addition to having a whole slew of cookie dough flavors, they have a million ways to serve it, they even have ice cream and for those little fur babies, a cup of their cookie dough made especially for dogs.  How awesome!DoughCo Doggie Cookie Dough

What kind of Dough do they have at DoughCo?

Served a bunch of different ways and with a BUNCH of cool flavors.  Here are some of the flavors they keep on tap:

Chocolate Chip

Loaded Brownie

PB Explosion

Cake Batter

S’Mores

Oreo Thin Mint *My personal favorite!

Samoas

Cookies n’ Cream (Vegan)

Snickerdoodle (Vegan)

Lemon Crunch (Vegan)

Protein

Cookie Butter

Gluten Free Options

Chocolate Chip

Oatmeal M&M

They even have monthly flavors, for example, Mint Chocolate Chip for the month of March and Red Velvet for February.

Now you can get these awesome flavors a variety of different ways including my personal favorite, the Half-Baked.  They throw the dough in the oven for a few minutes to get nice and warm and top it with your pick of ice cream and whipped cream.  It comes in two sizes, both of which I can polish off by myself.

They also have shakes, and cups for the more classic cookie dough lovers.

Being that this is currently a Utah only company you may be asking…”WHAT DO I DO WHEN I MOVE OUT OF STATE??”

Well you are in luck…DoughCo ships their dough nationwide! Not all flavors are available, so make sure you check before placing that order.

So if you are in the mood for a delicious new and hip joint to crash on Friday nights or want to take the family for a classic treat, make sure to check out DoughCo.

R&R BBQ: Best BBQ in Utah

R&R BBQ: Best BBQ in Utah

Here in Utah, we aren’t known for much more than green Jell-O, funeral potatoes and polygamy.  But there is a new kid in town.  R&R BBQ has come in like a wrecking ball and re-ignited the food revolution on the Wasatch Front.  Come check out the Best BBQ Joint in Utah, R&R BBQ.

Best BBQ in Utah

Founded by Rod and Roger Livingston as a hobby, they entered into competition BBQ and haven’t looked back.  After winning several BBQ championships, they decided to open up their own restaurants.  In a few short years, they have opened 7 restaurants and continue their rise to the top.  Their whole philosophy has been “No Shortcuts.”  From the quality of their meats to the preparation and execution of each plate, that philosophy is apparent.

Before you even see the restaurant coming up, you can definitely smell it.  The mouthwatering smell of smoked meats surrounds each store and makes you crave it even more.  Entering each location is an adventure in and of itself.

Their Food

Staples in the arsenal for any BBQ joint is the Brisket, Pulled Pork, and Smoked Sausages.  But their most famous dish would have to be their Caveman Burger.

Caveman Burger- Hungry Doug

The Caveman Burger

Filled with smoked sausage, pulled pork, jack cheese, fried jalapeños, and topped with your choice of BBQ sauce, you will have to unhinge your jaw like a python to fit it in your mouth.  Bursting with smokey goodness, it is BBQ perfection.

If you aren’t in the mood for a delicious burger, you can order the meats by the pound.  Each item on their menu is heaven on a plate.  Pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked sausage, boneless chicken thighs, smoked chicken, and St. Louis Spare Ribs.  My personal preference is the 3 meat plate with Brisket, Sausage, and pulled chicken.  You also cannot go wrong with their Brisket Tacos and Nachos.

So if you are in the mood for some great food, good smells, and a friendly atmosphere, go check out R&R BBQ.  Find the nearest one on their website and check out their menu.

Utah’s 5 Best Fast Food Joints

Utah’s 5 Best Fast Food Joints

Utah has a lot of things to offer.  The Best Snow on Earth, Scenic Mountain Peaks, and Fry Sauce.  If you do not know what Fry Sauce is, you are definitely missing out.  (Here is how you make it) Many people ask me what are some great places to eat that are unique to Utah that will not break the bank.  Well…I am finally going to answer that question.  Here are Utah’s 5 Best Fast Food Joints, in no particular order.

Crown Burger

377 East 200 South
Salt Lake City, Utah 84111
(801) 532-1155

Crown Burger: A Utah Staple

Crown Burger: A Utah Staple

We start our list off with in my opinion, the best burger in the state.  No list of Utah restaurants would be complete without Crown Burger.  Their signature item, The Crown Burger is a delicious Thick Cut Pastrami Cheeseburger with lettuce, onion, and fry sauce.  Accompany that with fries and a Chocolate Shake and you have a gut buster fit for a king.  If burgers aren’t your thing, they have delicious sandwiches, corn dogs, gyros, and salads.  With 7 locations across the Wasatch Front, you are sure to find something you love.

Moochies Meatballs

232 East 800 South
Salt Lake City, UT 84111
801-596-1350

Moochies

If you are in the mood for a great Philly sandwich, look no further than Moochies.  Having been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, their Philly is not complete without a healthy dose of jalapeno sauce.  While I do not waste my time on anything BUT the Philly when I come in, I also hear that the Meatball Sub is out of this world.  Lines for these famous sandwiches are usually out the door.  Portions are huge, so be prepared to take some home with you.  After several years in their downtown location, Moochies recently ventured and opened a second location in Midvale and a third in Lehi.  If you are in the mood for a uniquely Utah sandwich, this must be your first stop.

Olympus Burger

9326 S 700 E

Sandy, UT 84070

801-571-6868

Olympus Burger

Olympus Burger has been around for quite a while offering a unique combination of American staples and Greek items.  Family owned and operated, they take great pride in serving some of the best food in the state. The one reason why I included them on this list however was for their Gyro sandwich.  One of the things I remember growing up was when I was in High School, coming to get their Gyro Combo with amazing fries and 4 containers of Fry Sauce (seriously if you don’t know what Fry Sauce is, here is a recipe, go and try it for yourself.  It will change your world)  Homemade tzatziki sauce, piles of gyro meat and warm pita bread are a welcome change to the classic burgers and worth stopping by for.  With two locations in the Salt Lake Valley, you should have no problem getting in and trying for yourself.

R&R BBQ

307 W 600 S

Salt Lake City, UT

801-364-0443

R&R BBQ

R&R BBQ the best barbecue joint in the state, if not the country.  (You are welcome to try and change my mind) R&R offers true BBQ to Utah with their smoked meats and unique menu.  Everything on their menu is smoked, tender, and generous with their portion sizes.  If you were going to have one thing however, have the Brisket Tacos.  If you want the full experience, get the 3 meat plate with Brisket, Sausage, and Shredded Chicken.  Their sauces round add a kick of flavor that rivals any I have had in my travels through the country.  For Dessert, have the delicious homemade Bread Pudding.

R&R has taken the state by storm with 7 locations across Salt Lake, Davis, and Utah counties including in Vivint Smart Home Arena, home of the Utah Jazz.  Anytime you are in a 3 mile radius of the place, you can smell the delicious smoked meats calling you in.  If you are in the mood for a BBQ experience like no other, check out R&R BBQ.

Burger Bar

Located just outside of Hill Air Force Base in Roy Utah, Burger Bar is another Utah staple offering up a unique spin on American classics.  Check out my review for a more in depth look at this amazing Utah treat.  These huge burgers offer a welcome change from anything else you have tasted before.

There you have it folks.  These unique to Utah fast food joints are sure to keep you busy on your lunch breaks.  Do you agree with the list?  Let me know in the comments below.
